Gallery: Featherdeep

Here's a window into a fun little project I like to entertain my spare time.

We have three parrots we keep as pets:

• Ollie, a Sun Conure – He is delightful and intelligent, equal parts anxious flock-leader and tenderhearted sweetie.
• Paris, a Green Cheek Conure – She is a cute bird with a soul of pure mischief.
• Northie, a Black-Capped Conure – She is small, adorable, and ... honestly, that's all that really matters.
• Finley, a Nanday Conure – He used to be part of our flock, but he's gone off to have other adventures.

For fun, I started to imagine them as players in a D&D style adventure.

Honestly, this has been by far the most fun creative project I'm working on. I hope you enjoy.

The party is called The Flock. Ollie has become a Paladin, ever watchful and protective of the rest. Paris has become a Rogue, sneaky and skulking about underfoot. Northie has become a Cleric, the spiritual heart of the Flock. And Finley, he has retired from adventuring and now enjoys entertaining others as a Bard.

I needed a name, so that when I describe these characters, it's easy to delineate when I'm talking about their real life versions and their fantasy versions. I came up with Featherdeep as a name to describe the fictional world populated by our birds.

There is a lot of adventures to be had in Featherdeep, and someday, we will explore them all. For now though, enjoy this little taste.
